Kristen Holloway joined the FOX4 Kansas City family as a morning and noon anchor October 2022. Kristen is excited to call Kansas City home!

Holloway previously worked in Atlanta as a reporter/fill-in anchor for four years. Prior to that, she worked as a weekend anchor and reporter in Memphis and Knoxville, Tennessee. During her time in Knoxville, she covered the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama. Former President Barack Obama spoke at the Edmund Pettus Bridge about the historic march in 1965, where people demonstrated for voting rights and to end segregation. Holloway got her start in news as a multimedia journalist in Lafayette, Louisiana. 

The Atlanta native attended Florida A&M University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism. During her time at FAMU, Holloway won a first-place Florida Associated Press Award for her 15-minute documentary that she wrote and co-produced. Also, while in college, Holloway interned with CBS News Network in New York during the summer of 2011. She worked very closely with all the CBS affiliates, edited anchor promos and specials, helped producers write scripts for live anchor cross-talks and produced cross-talks for “The Early Show,” currently known as “CBS This Morning.”

Holloway was also nominated for three Emmy awards during her career, all for outstanding live reporting in the breaking news category.

Kristen won a gold medal in gymnastics on the floor exercise and a silver medal on balance beam during the 2005 Junior Olympics. She was a competitive gymnast for nine years, cheered for 14 years and ran track for four years. She’s an active member of National Association of Black Journalists and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Holloway loves finding stories, telling them and helping people in the process. She’s excited to explore Kansas City and can’t wait to get involved in the community! 

She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, watching sports and almost any outdoor activity.
